I would say that Adam was along the lines of the first true man, and that anyone before Adam was a mere primate. Adam was the first one to use tools, clothes, language. The bible says that there were men aside of who Adam conceived. Or maybe Adam was the first human to be chosen by God in a special way
The fall of man is also the fall of everything, death came to the entire world. It seems to be about the whole inadequacy of the world. I need to ponder this topic more.
