Women are attracted to the top 20% of men, but it's way easier to climb the social ladder in a small tribe with ~60-75 males with a high (especially male) mortality rate and structured mating and social-religious rituals.
Women have too much choice and are granted too much time searching for a mate they are happy settling with. I believe that if mass migration wouldn't already destroy Western society, uncontrolled female hypergamy and sexual freedom will do it instead.
