Reminder that schizo op believes the bible, except for the parts about Paul's ... problematic ancestry, which he will claim is "a bit hazy" even when it is clear as day.
Paul was an Israelite by blood and he was a Pharisee (progenitor of modern Judaism) for some time. Paul's parents were Pharisees. Also Paul's Pharisee teacher and President of the Sanhedrin, Gamaliel, holds a reputation in the Talmud for being one of the greatest teachers in all the annals of Judaism. Hillel the Elder, a previous President of the Sanhedrin and Grandfather of Gamaliel, was known as the highest authority among the Pharisees. Both Gamaliel and Hillel descended from Israelite tribes of Judah (Jesus' tribe) and Benjamin (Paul's tribe).

>inb4 why trust Sherira Gaon?Because your Apostle Paul and his parents were from the tribe of Benjamin, and Pharisees for some time. Not far fetched to think that Paul's Pharisee teacher is from Paul's tribe and also partly from the tribe of Judah.
>inb4 there were only a few Israelites who were PhariseesHow many Pharisees are named in your bible? About 7, and 3 or 4 were Israelites. 50 Percent. Not exactly tokens.
