I don't buy handwaving it as "because mental illness". Many times he's shown that he's very much aware that he looks like a fucking abomination. But every time he has these brief moments of self-awareness some enabling faggots or trolls, I can't tell which, just send him some HUGZZZ and he abandons all thought of unfucking himself. This is what zero willpower looks like. He readily and fully embraces any comfortable lies his ever-shrinking audience of faggots and freaks will tell him.
