I just believe that tradition is sometimes, sadly rather obviously, wrong. The essenes seem to have been closer to Christs teaching, and indeed many claim Christ to come from the essenes, but still the only authority i submit to would be that of God and not of tradition

Josephus tells us that only the Essenes are native to Judeah (even though he is of the judaistic faith and thus would have motive to portray the Pharisee as the legit and thus native ones) which is one of the reason (aside from their more spiritual interpretation of scripture) that some assume Jesus to have been and Essene (as he too would be native, being a descendent of Judah and David)

here is some chart where im not sure how accurate it is though.
Rumor is that Jesus was an Essene, but for that too I didnt find much aside from what I heard about the Essenes seeming to be accurate and since Jesus cant be wrong he thus would fall into that category if im correct with my faith.
