Reason: If there be a God, he would almost certainly be perfectly good. It would make sense then, that, if we have free will, he comes down to sacrifice himself for the purposes of repairing the relationship between Man and Him, but some will reject this and thus be subject to eternal despair.
My reasoning for God existing in general is due to the sheer volume of anecdotal evidence. That's not to say it's proof, no, but the way I see it, the sheer vast number of people who seem to have personal contact with SOMETHING that is beyond our realm, and mostly positive, seems to be real. There are such a vast majority of said people who weren't under duress, weren't suffering from heat exhaustion, and the chances that they were all schizo, if it truly is a random sample, is very low.
