>>12033558>>12033565Right, my normal operating premise is being an atheist-skeptic but you want to know a secret? It's because like this anon said, there is so much money involved in lies that it just keeps me from falling for scams, cults, getting used etc etc...
Reality is real. Physics, psychology and philosophy are real. It's the human that is both flawed and precise at the same time. We can transmit accurate date to each other like the words you are reading now. We can all understand 2+2=4. We all have some shared, basic reality. The Atheist-Skeptic keeps an eye on that reality and knows it. Grounds themselves in it. And that moves our ability to control with and deal with it. It's necessary... But
>I feel like 'skeptics' take it to an extreme to where they could have an encounter with a Sasquatch, Ghost, whatever and still find a way to explain it away. This comes in. Humans want to be seen as right and correct, safe and reliable. The safest thing to say is explain it away as not real. The monster is not under the bed. That keeps up safe. But that doesn't really keep us knowledgeable on some other level.
We have to let go of that sometimes and just accept things are working well beyond our abilities to perceive them.
I really only don't believe in God anymore because it's just to good to be true. But I don't care if others need to believe.
