>>3977571There's Croats who speak Shtokavian (dialect that came from Eastern Bosnia/western Serbia), Chakavian (coastal language that was spoken in the old kingdom of Croatia) and Kajkavian which is just a Pannonian Slovene dialect group with a bunch of Serbian influences.
They always spoke Slovene dialects around Zagreb but after the city became the Croatian capital and they started receiving Serbian(Shtokavian)-speaking priests, they turned to the Croatian nation - this was right around when national identities started forming so that was the result. During the whole Pan-Slavism thing, Croats embraced Shtokavian as the official standard (even though Chakavian is the actual Croatian language) which kinda turned into this weird complex you might see today where they are super proud to be Croats but at the same time really hate Serbs - even though they really speak the same language.
>>3977572I can hate Americans and that's not a real ethnicity either :^)

>>3977627There was a time when I was lying in bed with my eyes closed and for a split second, saw myself in a dream before going back to darkness. It was really interesting but I haven't been able to experience it again.
