>>8128584I don't read weeb but this comic is a pretty neat interpretation of Japan's Hayabusa I mission. They put a lot of national pride in it, and it's earned because the mission got fucked up by multiple problems but still managed to return some dust samples from asteroid Itakawa.
The second mission, Hayabusa II, is currently orbiting the sun alongside asteroid Ryugu and things seem to be running much smoother this time. Hayabusa I got hit by a solar flare as it was leaving Earth, dropped its Minerva lander at the wrong time letting it drift off into space, lost three of four engines while returning home, and in the end wound up plunging straight down into Earth's atmosphere to deliver her cargo when the original mission would have had Hayabusa drop the package off and continue out into space.
There's even a vocaloid song for the mission, if you're into that Hatsune Miku shit. It's the only one of her songs I've heard.
