The creator of Smartdoll is super arrogant and if you anger him, he'll never sell you a doll. or something like that. You basically end up on some blacklist.
There are good things about Smartdolls, like the clothing line. But some bad things are like the doll has a permanent hole for the stand in the small of their back and has limited selection of dolls. Meaning they only have 60cm size dolls and that's it.
Volks have many sizes from 6cm to 65cm. Basically lego size dolls to ones the size of your forearm.
I really like dollfie dream and volks for their variety. One major downside is how easily they can stain.
