Lets not fool ourselves. The world is fucked, and it always has been. If it doesn't get wiped out in a nuclear holocaust then it will certainly go through yet another dark age. Regardless, death is a constant that stays true for everything, for even the universe will eventually cease to be. In that case, I do not fear death. I welcome it, as it will be far better than this meaningless existence of skin and bones. That is not to say I will kill myself, but when death comes knocking, I won't be too upset.
