The only areas of NYC that vote Republican are the working class Italian/Irish neighborhoods like Staten Isle and Bay Ridge. Also, of all whites, they have maintained the most pride and identity in their heritage while still being proud Americans. Also, on a personal basis, I like all the Italian kids I met.
