>>3905554>>3905556It is is also believed that many of the ancient megalithic structures are wrongly attributed to more recent civilizations. The temple at Baalbek is a good example, there is a Roman temple to Jupiter on the site and surrounding the temple is a megalithic wall which uses much larger stones than any of the Roman constructions. The wall is attributed to the Romans because in the base of the wall there is a one stone that is clearly a piece of a Roman drum pillar, but many think that it is merely just a repair. In the quarry at Baalbek they have un-earthed several stones that are completely cut and weigh over 1800 tons. The big problem is that they use carbon dating to date alot of these ruins, and carbon dating only works on organic material since you can't carbon date stone. So the big issue is that if a site was utilized by multiple civilizations over the years you are going to to come up with an incorrectly young date since you would be dating the organic materials left by the last people to use the site.
