the catholic church came along and completely inverted the original teachings of God. there was a man 2000 years ago who literally existed who literally said he was the Son of God who literally did miracles. he did not come down here to rule as a political leader and he was a human just like you and i. he was capable of sinning and was just as tempted as we are. but He know that there was more than this life, and only wanted to spread truth, love, and miracles. the old scriptures are a book about Him and this earth and tries to teach many things.
it's like an instruction manual. you can build your desk without instructions, but it's easier with. Jesus literally was against fake religions. he said not to believe in the doctrine of man. you don't need to read anything because we are already God's children. but there are many fake christians. Jesus said there would not be many that walk the narrow path. with over 2 billion christians, how many are truly trying to be Christlike?
so many people say they follow Christ, but their actions and attitudes tell a different story
just like the pharisees, they might look religious on the outside, but their hearts are far from God (2 Timothy 3:5)
many believers have swapped out the humility and grace of Christ for something more aggressive and prideful. they’re using their faith as a weapon to tear others down instead of lifting them up with love. they speak harshly and judge quickly, all in the name of righteousness, but it’s missing the love that Jesus called us to show, even to those who oppose us. it’s exactly what Jesus condemned in the pharisees, who thought they were better than everyone else.
they forgot that the heart of God’s law is love; love for Him and love for our neighbors
