I work in wet laboratories and it's hard enough to convince a hiring manager you understand what an particular instrument or method is. I'm in a saturated market for my skillset, but the advantage is you can usually distinguish oneself from other lab workers who genuinely don't know what the fuck they're doing. Good luck.
