idk what shriners do, and the weird secret handshakes sketch me out--but so do secret/superflashy handshakes by gang members. that doesn't mean that they're doing bad stuff- just makes me suspicious of them. here's the primary difference between you and me, though: while i'm suspicious of them, i have no reason to believe that they're ..uh.. demons or whatever you said before. i can see the argument that they're unwitting instruments of evil. i'll even accept that, because i believe that about most people anyway. are they running the world? no. are they illuminati? yes. just like MENSA, they're i_am_very_smart types who like having their egos stroked. functionally, no different from you. they want to feel important. they seek secret or otherwise exclusive knowledge. they have a lot in common with you, actually. it's starting to make a bit more sense, now that i think about it. the only mason i've ever known was some skinny incel dude at holloman bragging about how he's a mason now
