>>12346377They were a continuation of Rome but far from it's glory, thanks to Christianity. "Byzantium" is just a cope name catholicucks and western historians cooked up to deal with the fact that Roman identity lived on beyond the shenanigans of the catholic church proclaiming itself as "Rome's rightful descendent" and that bad taste joke that was the Holy Roman Empire (which was neither "holy" and was even less roman than Eastern Rome).
Still, I'd wager Rome's soul died the moment Christianity became it's main religion, it was just christcucks larping as Rome since 380. Even so, Byzantium identified itself as Rome, it's people as romans and it's enemies called them romans. Mehmed II called himself "Kayzer-i-Rûm" (Caesar of Rome) when he defeated Constantinople.
Byzantines did live on, not because of Christianity but despite it, I'd guess because a semblance of Ancient Rome still lived on in it's people (Hellenism had renewed appreciation during the last dynasty in the XV century), but they were constantly getting back stabbed and butt fucked by other christian states, the church, and later on by the final chapter of the Desert Adventures Trilogy (muslims). Props to them, they knew how to treat kikes and survived for 1000 more years thanks to it.
As for the latin speaking, only the western half spoke it. The eastern half always had greek as "lingua franca".
As for the Austria cunt telling you to "pick up a book", I believe he hasn't even read the Bible. If he did he would probably see how castrative and sterile christian spirituality is, a prison of the soul and the being.
Have a good day, anon.
