>>19399862I tried using anki, i used to do the 1000core japanese vocab lists. I made a python script that would scrap vocab from the japanese 1000core even. I kept forgetting a lot, and using Japanese was a huge hassle. I learned to write kanjis with remembering the kanji. It helps a decent amount, you learn how kanjis work and stroke order. Very useful for finding an unknown kanji or guessing the meaning of a kanji.

海 うみ ocean
浴びる あびる to shower
All of them has the water component on the left. its not always obvious and sometimes the symbol component is different from the meaning. sometimes there is a sound component on the right that gives the on yomi.
病気 びょうき illness
痛み いたみ pain
Anyway the only way to reinforce this is by reading. By reading you learn the vocabulary, grammar at the consistent rate they appear in. If you use anki you are either gonna see a word that barely appears too much or a word that appear a lot too much.Of course a lot of words that appear way more frequently that you don't have as cards
