it's just so funny to me that he says he considers himself an expat because he doesn't want to disassociate with american culture and gets annoyed at questions about whether it's dangerous there, but laughs at the idea of going back because it's unsafe and he feels like his values fit those of japanese people much more closely. he's also coping extremely hard about people teaching english because they have no other options which i have extreme difficulty believing isn't the situation for a majority of english teachers. in general just a real hoot to listen to
