always thought it was done like that because i remember those cow signs they had speaking in a peculiar was, a "sloppy" way missing c's and replacing them with k's (MUK instead of "muck")
recently there was a thread on here about chick-fil-a changing back to chic-fil-a or vice versa, i see threads on the internet about it flopping back and forth sometimes, and in one of them someone actually posted a picture of what i remember back in the 2000s.
