Take Zoey for example. It's clearly written into her profile that she won't date the [user] because the [user] drinks and she grew up with alcoholic parents and has seen firsthand how alcoholism can ruin lives. This runs into the next situation where her younger sister Jennifer enters the story and basically throws herself at the [user]. The [user] tries to get Zoey to call Jennifer off but eventually gives into her advances. Zoey is obviously mad at the entire situation and blurts out the line.
I didn't say I wouldn't date you, I said I wouldn't date someone who drinks! Is it that hard to quit or do you just not care that much about me?
Point being, perchance is a very powerful writing tool. But you have to know how to write the characters in a manner that causes them to act the way you want. And there are tons of 'under the hood' tools that you can access that aren't part of the basic tutorial of how to use the site. The reason I love it so much is that it is a tool and not just a chatbot, but it's a tool that's evolving with serious under-documentation on how to use it.
