It's very common to see children pretending to be car racers whenever they're on they're toy cars, or soldiers whenever they've got toy guns, and adults will usually follow along with this premise for as long as play time continues, but after that, everything goes back to normality.
You can find many people in my country who learn English at school or through Duolingo, and who have their houses decorated with things like American football shirts and license plates from several states in America. They wear clothing made by American companies and even listen to American pop or rock music. In spite of all this, nobody would call them "American", since they were not born in the United States of America and have never lived in America.
Yet for some reason some people, especially weeaboos or furries, have a tendency to want others to believe that they're ACTUALLY Japanese or that they're a REAL fox, respectively, and get offended whenever somebody else doesn't play along with their make-believe game.
