At this point I don't think there's any need to worry. 4.26 is the last version before ue 5 I'm pretty sure.
But yes you can usually update a project to a newer version without any issues. I make a copy of the original first just in case though.

Maybe that stuff works best if you're doing it all with the shape tools and closed loops or something.
