It's gone before she reaches the edge to recline on it, and she feels the warmth of the sun and the drink soothing her body, calming her mind. So, great, Carmody was in town. Is she really going to the community college? Colby has her doubts. There's something funny going on, but there are a number of levels on which it makes her uncomfortable that her little sister has shown up in Spaghetti Town to begin with. Ideally, maybe, they could support each other and have each other's backs as family, but she worries that Carmody's goals are going to be not all that well aligned with her own goals.
One of the servants approaches her, and gestures to the empty glass. "Miss Jefferson, can I take that inside for you?"
>"Yes, and then fill it, and bring it back.""Um, Miss Jefferson, perhaps now would be....."
Colby waves him off.
>"Go on, please. Another drink?"The servant dutifully takes the glass and goes inside. As he brings it out full again, Colby's mind gets back on track.
Her own goals.
Never mind Carmody, who couldn't have shown up at a worse time. Never mind Miss USA, or any of the other distractions right now. C.A.M.O. had beaten Colby, personally, twice now. Mare Equine had even beaten Amy. Now Immaculate Connection had one more chance to make it right against Warhorse, in a straight up tag team match that they preferred, and this time the titles were on the line. Clash in the Kingdom would be EVERYTHING.
After today, Colby knows she needs to get serious. Today, finish her drink, rest by the pool and heal up, have a decent dinner, and turn in early. Starting tomorrow, playtime is over, and it'ss time to get with Amy and focus on training like they'd never trained before.
