Men would rather live their lives as "caveman" attending to their own needs, desires, pleasures and conquests as the ysee fit. A man will happily die seeking challenge and conquest, and would rather go out in a blaze of glory then live to be an old man this is by our design.
However, civilization benifits woman and children, and men are typically tamed by women to join civilization. By giving up our desire to be the wild men that nature demands us to be and what we want to be, we throw ourselves unto the pyre of civilization to maintain, build, protect, and keep this unnatural order of nature going as it protects woman and children more then it does men. Because of this men are entitled to a wife, or rather the high near garunteed probability of a wife, partner and offspring. Thats the unspoken contract that is made between men and women and civilization.
Men give us their natural desires, to build a system to protect woman, and in exchange women give most, not all, but most men, companionship and children.
Probem is women are breaking that contract, and so are men to a degree. Women and men are getting fatter, lasier and unattractive, women are demanding "equality" but dont actually understand what that means, men are able to persure their desires from teh comfort of their home not bettering themselves only growing fat, lazy, and indulgent, women are no longer desirable to men as they are giving up pussy, and tits for free on the internet for a few bucks.
