I've thought about SAW, in like a shower thought esque way. John Kramer was basically trying to get people to experience what he did when he attempted suicide. Like: "wow this traumatic experience has given me a different outlook on life and thus appreciation for being alive" and he was trying to share that with test subjects. In a way John Kramer is like Ivan Pavlov with his dog experiments. Hes trying to use negative stimuli to induce a positive response
