most of the "muttness" of the ashkenazis is older than the time they stayed in central europe
they are basically maltese people, you don't see many maltese and so you imagine them as superwarthy and can't reconcile some of the jews you see with what you perceive as a maltese, but they are pretty similar, the amount of light featured maltese is the same as the amount of light featured ashkenazi jews
