>>14929477When Jesus comes back people will be practicing the law of Moses (a big deal if we are not justified by the law)
Compare with Paul
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.-rom 3:28
vs Jesus
“‘Do not suppose that I came to throw down the law or the prophets — I did not come to throw down, but to fulfil; for, verily I say to you, till that the heaven and the earth may pass away, one iota or one tittle may not pass away from the law, till that all may come to pass. Whoever therefore may loose one of these commands — the least — and may teach men so, least he shall be called in the reign of the heavens, but whoever may do and may teach [them], he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. For I say to you, that if your righteousness may not abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye may not enter to the reign of the heavens.’” Matt 5:17-20 YLT98
“And lo, one having come near, said to him, ‘Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have life age-during?’ And he said to him, ‘Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good except One — God; but if thou dost will to enter into the life, keep the commands.’” Matt 19:16-17 YLT98
“Then Jesus spake to the multitudes, and to his disciples, saying, ‘On the seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees; all, then, as much as they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but according to their works do not, for they say, and do not’” Matthew 23:1-3 YLT98
“And dost thou wish to know, O vain man, that the faith apart from the works is dead? Ye see, then, that out of works is man declared righteous, and not out of faith only” James 2:20, 24 YLT98
These passages are pretty clear that any Israelite who wanted to enter into the covenant promises needed to keep the entire Law.
Jesus expected his followers to keep the law of Moses
