Sure, some anime is absolute garbage, but a lot of shows can be genuine masterpieces (Cowboy Bebop, Ghibli Films, etc. ). The same argument can be made about shows in the west, such as sitcoms and soap operas. There is good and bad in all forms of entertainment. I don't blame people for not liking anime, I can really see where they're coming from. What pisses me off is when people blindly hate it without giving it a shot. You would be surprised how many films nowadays have taken inspiration from Anime
