Maybe some people don't want a partnership, but a servant of sorts and can't just see it happening with another human being. At least that's how I see it, I'd get a robot just because I couldn't see myself expecting someone to cater to my needs 24/7, solely existing for me - my preference for robots is based on humanity and empathy towards other humans, because I acknowledge their value and worth as more than just my servants, I respect their individuality. The purpose of a machine is to make things easier and to remove labor from humans.
To me a sexbot, would function as a secretary - remembering stuff, teaching stuff (languages etc), maybe have some conversations, maybe covert books to audiobooks on the fly, so my eyes and hands would be free to do something else. I don't get all high with the fantasy of it being a perfect companion, it's a machine, it has limitations; as for physical things I expect it to be able to walk, sit/stand up, hold items and carry items, maybe some basic sex positions with animated cycles of movement, like riding on a dick.
If I wanted a companion of a woman, I'd go out with one, but women are unreliable and boring.
