>>15730306In Pagan Scandinavia no less than 60% of all Scandinavian adults were thralls.
>https://books.google.com/books?id=ATq5_6h2AT0C&pg=PA674#v=onepage&q&f=falseThralls were slaves, usually enslaved because of debt. They could not own any property without the permission of their master. If they were killed there was no weregild, rather their master was owed their value as property.
They could not own or use weapons or ride horses.
If they were freed (by wills, often) then they were Freedmen as were their children and grandchildren. All three generations still owed complete obedience to the original master or his descendants. If they incurred ANY debt the entire family returned to being thralls.
Only the coming of Christianity ended the slave system of Scandinavia.
So all you scandinavian pagan chucklefucks better understand - in Real Life 3 out of every 5 of you LARPers would have been slaves.
