>>13584319Both Gold Britannias and Gold maple are widely recognized, have fantastic security features and low premiums. I got an older 1/4ozt gold Britannia from my LCS for $495 and really like it. Just know that anything under an ounce will have a much higher premium, and gold tends to have pretty big premiums to begin with. But don't bother with Gold Eagles, quite frankly they are shit. They do contain the listed amount of gold, but also have a small amount of copper to give it durability. I guess this is so they can be "circulated", but it REALLY takes away from the color. I've seen Gold Maples and Gold Eagles next to each other and it's pretty shocking just how much better the maples look. Eagles just look like brass, they don't even look like gold. They have zero security features too so it might be harder to sell.
