My maternal grandparents are very devout Roman Catholics who are against all kinds of immoral behavior (like sex before marriage, lying, and reading fantasy books), but then again, my maternal uncle (my mother's younger brother) is very into dirty jokes and really enjoys that sort of stuff.
I can't remember what my mother was like in terms of what she liked, what she approved of/did not approve of, but I know she was into "cute" stuff like cartoon dogs and cats.
I've never heard my father say anything about her other than the fact that she had lots of emotional problems and often got into arguments with him.
