>>19621869As Cassie and Delilah are driven to their hotel after the meeting, the blonde manager draws closer to her employer and lowers her voice to a whisper. “Why’d you agree to give him so much of your profits? I know it’s the yakuza, but still…”
Cassie grins. “That man is stupid, but not stupid enough not to know I’m a threat to a deadbeat like him. So I bruised his ego a little over his shitty restaurants, then I let him think he won our first encounter. He’ll underestimate me now.”
“But… the Obsidian Rush profits…”
Cassie chuckles quietly. “He won’t be getting a cent of it. I’ll have my men move Oregano elsewhere, then report those sales to him as Obsidian Rush. That’s what he’ll get a cut of. Obsidian Rush stays off the books, and remains all mine.”
Delilah laughs. “That’s more like it, I should have known you’d have a plan. But now, we need to talk about your next move.”
“We had a long flight, D. So before anything else, I’d like to get some rest,” Cassie replies.
“Amen to that,” Delilah replies. “But after recent events in the WWA you asked me to look over your contract. There’s no exclusivity clause in it. You’re free to work dates with any company. Including GJPW. Remember Cassie, as far as the public knows, you’re not just a businesswoman. You’re a wrestler. Working dates for GJPW would be the perfect cover to explain you making regular trips to Japan in the future. It’ll divert any attention from your real business in the club.”
Cassie looks out the window. “You don’t need to sell me on it, D. After the audit, and the way the dog had his people SCREW me in Block B of the B1, I want to wrestle outside of the WWA.”
Delilah smiles. “Good. Then you’ll be pleased to know there’s already a generous offer on the table from GJPW. And I can’t imagine why since they didn’t give me any details… but apparently they think you’ll be interested in two girls that are about to graduate from their dojo.”
