But anyway I kind of wanted to use FF7 sort of as aesthetic inspiration for music I don’t know how
It would work exactly it’s like how they use all kinds of different styles but one at the beginning of remake is some 1920s style a few times thrown in there
Things like they gives me inspiration possibly for welding together different influences from a variety of sources, but I wonder if the music in the game could
Be used at all for inspiration exactly? I have to listen to it too see and tease apart all the different styles used to see if they’re usable or not but also I would do this with the original as well but I like the themes it makes me think of a lot of different things.
Like the fact that the slums the lower portion of society underneath the upper pillar plates of the city of Midgar, the upper plates are a lot more affluent and modern they’re probably not exactly rich but they’re somewhere middle class and have a lot of modern conveniences we take for granted
While the slums are like the 3rd world but I mean people practically live in shacks and don’t really even have much electricity probably.
I wonder if you can capture that in music. Basically I want to really capture the feeling of being underground, kind of like an underground resistance feeling, I feel really enthusiastic about that if it’s possible with the allotted styles and tones at my disposal.
Like how would that work? The music wouldn’t really reflect being either a slums person nor an upper Midgar person quite too much for sure I wonder if you could capture that scope
But I guess that’s the reason why it has to be like FF7 because it’s not really liberal if you can’t have themes of freedom and resistance and the underground which therein lies sort of the problem you can’t really just ‘accept’ all that stuff too much exactly
