When you read up on dog breeds and they came about because people were breeding for the exact traits they wanted, you realise how fucking worthless modern society is. THe Border Terrier for example had so many traits bred into it for its role - loose skin so it could turn around in fox holes, a strong tail so it could be pulled out of foxholds backwards, bigger teeth than normal dogs so it could fight foxes, double coat, then a non-aggressive nature with other dogs so it could be good with the fox hounds and people, yet a kill instinct for small furry animals. Where are the people now that could even do this?
