If you grew up in a place where bears were more than a nuisance then you would understand the joy of killing one. When they are so big they can knock down your fence just by putting their paws on it. When you leave your little brother playing outside then you see a giant brown murderer half way over the fence and you realize your isolated little safe haven from the violence of the city is not isolated from the killers in the forest. When you can't take hikes because bears. When you have to drive your truck to the store because walking is too dangerous because of bears. When no one will do anything about it because of regulations. That's when you begin to enjoy killing bears.
