wanna take a wild guess what a petroleum distillate does to your tree? You just fucking killed it. Just like spraying gasoline or diesel on grass, it will kill the absolute shit out of it.
You should have went to a tractor supply or feed store and asked them for something for bugs like a Permethrin or Bifenethrin for fucks sake. Those kill bugs and insects and wont kill plants.
