>>3503795Depression is definitely a real thing, I go through bouts of it myself and it's just a miserable numb place to be. My mum is severely bipolar so either I got it from her since it's supposedly hereditary or I got it from some brain trauma I suffered years ago which has messed me up in different ways or it's completely unrelated, who knows. I've never told anyone about it in real life though, I can't stand people who whinge and cry about themselves, I had to put up with that for years from my mum growing up.
I fixed my diet last year and ever since then I have felt a lot better, less bouts of depression and my mind has been a lot sharper. I'm pretty much pulling this out of my arse but I really believe depression and other associated mental disorders are a result of the human animal not being in it's natural habitat. We're not supposed to be indoors 24/7, we're not supposed to eat processed sugar and simple carbohydrates and we're not supposed to be so inactive that our bodies turn into marshmallows. Whenever I've done anything that resembles the environment that we evolved in I've felt amazing, the problem is when that depression kicks in you have to work so hard just to get some sort of motivation.
