The Republic Places most of it's spending on it's Millitary, which is said to be one of the best trained and equipped worldwide, with about 800,000 troops in active service, and 4 million reserves. Compulsory Millitary Service is a large part of living in The Republic, and It is required for anyone who wants to immigrate to do at least 5 years.
Crime is a part of any country, The Northwest Republics deals with smaller crimes such as petty theft with corporal punishment, medium problems such as fraud with a few years prison time. Any crime worse than Murder carries the death penalty.
The Northwest Republic is very secretly attempting to create a weapon of mass destruction to use as a last resort, But so far there has not been much progress
