bros. Arusha has so far been an absolutely stellar place to explore. Feels very safe compared to Nairobi. It's more of a town than a city, families are outside and even the poor part of town which we have to go through to reach our house doesn't feel unsafe. There's kids playing outside here, goat herders, barbers, vendors, salesmen, food stalls and others and it's very different to the poor parts of Nairobi where you'd see a lot of loitering and staring at you. The food here is also much much cheaper than in Kenya, hell everything is. €0.35 for a chicken skewer or equivalent treat from a street food stall, same price for a soda, €0.5 for a beer (picrel was very good), €2-3 for a tuk tuk ride, €4 for a luxurious gelato at an ice cream cafe, and €27 for a restaurant meal for FOUR people. Why four, we paid our attendant/local tour guide who has been just absolutely excellent. We plan to tip him good when we leave Arusha, the guy has been absolutely golden so far.
I hope you all are having a great weekend.
