>>21043495Inverting the Devouring Mother was an excellent touch. I'm certain the ending of this film is going to receive quite a bit of praise in the coming years--it's quite a feat to make something like that work.
>>21043502Cameron would have been well-serve by having someone else write his script. Avatar was nothing more than a series of tropes and it was a painful viewing experience for me when I saw it in theaters. But Cameron is not the kind of person that's interested in making good film or insightful film--he's the kind of person that deeply understands the what the normie craves, and is extremely talented at catering to that while also making something that is palatable for more discerning audiences. It's a talent, for sure, and I do admittedly like most of films, but Avatar is a sore point for me.
>>21043513This is not the most /lit/erate board, though it's not the least, either. Extra hilarity points with the statement that the actor playing Paul Atreides is (((white))). Oh, well--Denis Villeneuve I think is honestly working with the best he can given the current system. I refuse to watch those movies because of how they casted the Fremen and Chani.
