I honestly used to think some of the same things as you do. Problem is, the christians were the only ones to fight against judaism for the last 2,000 years. To be sure, Rome did siege Jerusalem a couple of times but it's important to understand that Jews were still routed in all their institutions. No steps were ever created to abolish judaism, just the subjugation of the jewish people to Rome. Christians have historically forced jews into ghettos, kicked them out of countless countries, and have burnt them at the stake for their adherence to judaism. I am personally done attacking christianity and have even realized just how healthy it is for society. Most of the things that pagans say is shit about christianity being "taken advantage of" by jews stems from complete ignorance. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 proves that "turning the other cheek" only applies to christians, it was never meant for those of other faiths to take advantage of them. It frankly doesn't make any sense whatsoever after Rome had sacked Jerusalem (after jews had all their possessions taken from them) that they would be the ones to cause a social revolution against Rome. Jews did however do everything within their own power to stop christians from taking power in Europe to no avail. And once when violence didn't quell the revolution spurred on by the christians, the jews made sure at the very least that they had religious rights within Rome (Codex Theodosianus) until eventually even those rights were gradually and completely destroyed. Saying that their was no divergence between semites in the time of the ancients is as easy as falling off a log. A lot of semites in the old testament worshipped Moloch; worshippers who sacrificed children (sound familiar?) and those semites were condemned to hell. In the talmud, it says to sacrifice children to Moloch.
