God is a warlike God, OP. He delights in the fury of the righteous. Don’t buy into liberal Puritanism or post-Vatican II Catholicism. Traditional Roman Catholicism is closer to Paganism. There’s a reason it’s called ROMAN Catholicism.
The blood of the warrior is closer to God than the prayers of the pious or the ink of the scholars.
