Feel like the believability of that scenario might be more difficult to pull off convincingly in a modern setting because of how tightly controlled and monitored hospitals are these days.
Oh! What if it was set during Covid like that’s where she gets her start but as the world recovers from the pandemic, it gets harder and harder for her to get away with murder and tell eventually she’s caught in like the present day. Yeah that could work.
