This is a photograph taken in 1972 in a single shot. They were able to do this because the moon is farther away than low earth orbit, so it basically allowed them to zoom out the shot so as to capture the entire earth in one frame. Low earth orbit satellites capture smaller portions of the earth at one time, but with greater clarity and detail (low earth satellites are what glowniggers use to spy on you)
