The first day at the gym after a long hiatus of being a lazy fuck is always hard but it gets easier and easier every time so long as your consistent and don't relapse.
Keep up the grind OP, don't allow yourself to be demoralized.
Also feeling the burn is good but if your feeling genuine pain then lift a little less or lower your original goal of sets an reps down by half. It's better to spend a week or two lifting bellow your expectations rather than forcing yourself to meet them and then swiftly injuring yourself. If your not able to lift as much as you thought you could as many times as you could don't be discouraged, those muscles will develop in due time and your gym peers don't care nearly as much as you think they do if you have to start with baby steps.
