Openheimer only reported progress and tech on the bomb development to Stalin. He did little to progress the bomb. As a scientist, he was an idiot.
Now Heisenberg was in charge of the German Atomic bomb programs. They produced 4 bombs, they tested one. The other three were captured by the US forces under General Patton. All the Germans needed was a larger staged missile to put the war heads on, and the Germans may have survived.
