they're working this thing everyday, learning from the masters, honing their craft more and more, we can't pretend we can just go in and copy paste them with modern techniques, and speeds and hope they'll be the same
heck even japanese joinery is a bitch, we've got a whole bunch of precision machines and we still go, heck, what do you mean nails are forbidden, my CAD doesn't like this idea
