>>23699087Do you think modding started with computers? People were already modding stuff since the Stone Age. The roots of modern modding culture began when common people started gaining literacy. A lot of great scientists and inventors, like Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday (inventor of the Faraday cage, but also the one who discoveded that magnetic fields generate voltage as they shift), and Guglielmo Marconi (inventor of the radio) got their start with really shitty science books with black-and-white etchings, no YouTube videos back then after all.
Electronics was mostly pioneered by people who got their start fucking around with wires and Leyden jars (early experimental batteries) as kids and then went pro.
The first computers running on electricity were made with a bunch of relays, really noisy things.
Analog was born with a tube and changed with a 'sistor. The synth, early TVs, telephones, and early tapes were all a product of the world of analog stuff.
Digital was not a break, but rather a natural evolution of the world of analog electronics.
